The Bornite occurrence is located on the south western slope of Mount Demers, approximately 3 kilometres southeast of Maid Lake.

The area is underlain by intrusive rocks, primarily quartz diorite and diorite, of the Paleozoic to Jurassic Westcoast Crystalline Complex.

Locally, areas of skarn host sulphide mineralization, primarily magnetite and chalcopyrite with minor bornite, and epidote alteration.

From 2006 through 2008, the area was prospected as the Maid 1-2 claims. In 2008, a lone chip sample assayed 8.0 grams per tonne silver, 15.86 per cent iron and greater than 1 per cent copper (Assessment Report 29556).
